We are a very mixed fishery therefore the lake is stocked with many different species of fish.

Over the last two years we have seen common carp and mirror carp caught ranging between 4lbs and 26lb. Most of our carp are caught on luncheon meat and carp pellets.

We have grass carp up to 30lb, you can see these quite often but tend to be very hard to catch, these were the first of the carp to go in the lake in the early 80s when it was a trout fishery and we had very bad weed problems. We have a few ghost carp between 8lb and 16 lb. Of course our pretty crucian carp.

Tench ½ lb right up to 9lb - these seem to like sweet corn and luncheon meat.

Chub ½ up to 4 ½ lb the chub like maggots, meat, and corn.

We have lovely perch up to 4 lb not many people fish for these but when they do they love worms and maggots and are caught in the margins.

We have lots of bream all different sizes and these like to eat anything.

We have lots and lots of roach and our famous rudd these range in size but since we took some of the smaller ones out we are getting much bigger ones coming out, these love lots of anything you will catch these all day long on maggots, corn, meat they even try the odd boilie sometimes.

Now we have our beautiful barbel, they have put on lots of weight since going in 4 yrs ago; they average 3lb - 5 lb most of the barbel are caught in the margins using a float rod with maggots or corn.
